Play with Your Food raises $106,788 for Carmichael Outreach
Regina, SK — April 2, 2026 – Play with Your Food (PwYF) has surpassed its original goal of $75,000 and is now at $106,788. This milestone reflects the generosity, creativity and compassion of hundreds of participants who came together to support Carmichael Outreach’s essential programs.
This year’s campaign included 150 participants organized in 33 teams to run small independent events to raise funds. A total of 45 sponsors made this possible by donating prizes and valuable venue space to the campaign. PwYF teams hosted 35 public events and funds were immediately directed to Carmichael Outreach. From tea tastings to drag show brunches, paint nights to an online auction, there’s a place for everyone at PwYF.
“Play with Your Food exists to build community in fun, meaningful ways and this year, our teams truly showed up,” says Chelsea Steenbock, Chair of Play with Your Food. “Exceeding our goal isn’t just about the dollars raised, it’s about people choosing to care for one another.”
Janis Miller, Director of Development at Carmichael Outreach, emphasizes the importance of community-led fundraising efforts like this one. “Support from initiatives like Play with Your Food allows Carmichael Outreach to continue meeting people where they are, with dignity, compassion and respect” says Miller. “These funds directly support programs that address immediate needs while also creating pathways to stability, wellness and belonging. We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to this campaign’s success.”
