PLAY WITH YOUR FOOD 2024/25 CAMPAIGN RAISES $86,319 FOR CARMICHAEL OUTREACH
(Regina, SK) Play with Your Food (PwYF), a Regina-based community organization of board gamers that has been using “micro-fundraising” to fight food insecurity, poverty, and homelessness in Regina since 2013, raised $86,319 for Carmichael Outreach in the 2024/25 campaign.
This year’s campaign included over 120 participants from all over Saskatchewan. Participants organized in teams to run public-facing fundraising events since June 2024. This campaign exceeded its goal by more than $25,000. PwYF has raised more than $410,000 since 2013 for local charities in Regina, and over $200,000 since its relaunch in 2022-23 for Carmichael Outreach. The 2024-25 campaign concluded March 31, 2025.
Tyler Gelsinger, Executive Director at Carmichael Outreach, acknowledges that the money raised by PwYF is invaluable to their efforts in central Regina. “The impact of Play with Your Food’s support is incredible,” says Tyler. “This funding enables us to provide essential services—from meals and clothing to housing support—for some of Regina’s most vulnerable individuals. We’re so grateful to be part of a community that shows up in such a fun, creative, and generous way.”
Chelsea Low, Co-Chair of PwYF, is overwhelmed, “This number… it’s crazy to think that just having fun can do this much good!” she said. “Thank you to all the participants, the volunteers, the amazing businesses that sponsored us, our partners, and to the public for coming to our events and supporting the community.”
PwYF will launch the 2025/26 campaign in June 2025.
