PwYF 2024 December Greetings

Going into December, we are once again regaled with Christmas music, sparking lights, and the season of joy and goodwill. It’s heartwarming to be immersed in the season. We like to pause and reflect on the abundance in our life throughout the year, but especially at this time of year.

We are also acutely aware that the needs in our community are amplified during the holiday season. The weather has turned colder, and those who struggle with homelessness, food insecurity, and poverty are faced with increased challenges. We are deeply grateful for organizations like Carmichael Outreach who work diligently every day to address these needs and provide respite and hope for those who need it most. We are deeply honoured that Play with Your Food can assist Carmichael in their mission.

We often spend a lot of time planning the campaign and attending events, and then forget to appreciate all the people who make this happen. A huge thank you goes out to our volunteers, the team members who plan, host, and organize fundraisers for Carmichael, and to all of our family, friends, and partners who support our efforts to make a difference in our community. We are halfway through the campaign year and are almost halfway to our campaign goal of raising $60,000. Kudos to all for every single part you play in reaching this goal. We appreciate you!

We would like to wish everyone a safe, warm, and joyful holiday season. As we all engage in various festive activities with friends and family, let’s hold joy in our hearts but also hold empathy for those who struggle. Please join us in the days, weeks, and months ahead to gather in camaraderie and raise money to lift up those in need. Thank you for being on this journey with us. Let’s “Game for a Change”.
