When he’s not playing gigs in town or games, he’s hanging with his dog Harmon, cat Malcolm and husband Brett down in the Cathedral neighbourhood.

Aaron Hertes
My name is Aaron! Nice to meet you. I have been with Play With Your Food for three months now. I enjoy games with a variety of strategies including engine-builders, deck-builders, and "points salads." In the real world I am a policy analyst for the City of Regina. I hope to bring these skills to the table by helping PWYF develop policies and procedures, and generally keep the team on track throughout the campaign. Looking forward to it!

Addisen Nelson
Addisen has loved board games for as long as she can remember. Having grown up on games like Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride, she doesn‘t shy away from a challenge. When she isn’t playing games, doing homework, or practicing saxophone, she enjoys reading and spending time with people and making connections. Addisen has been participating in Play with Your Food since 2022, and she thrilled for the opportunity to be more hands on with the group!

Ali Thompson
If it involves a mystery, count Ali in—preferably with a magnifying glass in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. She’s a lifelong lover of old books and dark libraries so if Clue is your jam, she‘s grabbing Mrs. Peacock. Everything from cryptozoology to cryptography (and cats, and apparently alliteration) bring a smile to her face. Ali’s your go-to for all things curious, spooky, and sleuthy. She’s thrilled to join the team, grow our audience, and raise funds for an incredible cause.

Her gaming tastes may have evolved but her enthusiasm for games - which she fortunately shares with her husband Bryan and daughter Sara! - continues to grow, as does her gratitude for the community of fellow gamers and social justice advocates she’s found in Regina. Carmen loves stringing words together, Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache novels, sourdough donuts and brown butter lattes, live theatre, her daughter’s art, and conversations that run deep and long. She also likes run-on sentences.
